Australia’s Largest Women’s Outdoor & Adventure Expo is Back!
The travel industry has seen a 35% rise in women craving adventure holidays.
Outdoor gear for women is an exploding industry.
On Instagram, #womenwhohike has over 500,000 mentions.
Across the world, an increasing number of women are swapping hotels for tents, heels for hiking boots and seeking experiences based on adventure and exploring. The online platform, She Went Wild is leading the movement and, on 3rd December, will return to Sydney for Australia’s largest outdoor and adventure expo.
“After the success of our first event in November 2016, we’re returning for an even bigger and better event this year,” says She Went Wild’s founder, Emma Walker, “This event is curated by women, to aid inspiring and empowering more female adventurists; of any age and background.”
With exhibitors from all various kinds of sports and hobbies, from camping, hiking, climbing to cycling, Osprey, CamelBak and Sea to Summit are just a few of the global brands that will showcase their latest releases and favourite female adventure wear.
Throughout the day, attendees can participate in workshops that teach practical skills such as knot-tying, foraging, outdoor camping, how to identify flora and reduce waste in the wild.
There will also be exciting talks from seasoned female adventurers. Speakers include best-selling author, Heather Ellis who recently released her book UBUNTU, the story of her motorcycle odyssey around Africa. The She Went Wild stage will also host Lisa Blair, who was just awarded the the Spirit of Adventure award at this year’s Australian Geographic Society Awards. As well as a talk from Lauren Jones who has just completed a 1600k walking expedition the outback with her husband and one-year-old daughter.
The event will be an opportunity for consumers and retailers alike to experience developing trends, purchase products, book training courses, and network with others who share the same interests. Guys and families are welcome too, we want this to be celebration of the outdoors and highlighting female achievements within the industry.
